VIDEOGRAPHER/RAPPER/DANCER/PHOTOGRAPHER...MEET SLEEPiDIDTHIS!!!

ABOUT THIS EPISODE

Join myself and videographer, photogapher, dancer and rapper, Sleepi Alleyne in my podcast . I'll discuss anything given to me that may be a concern to persons today. Sooo.... LEAVE YOUR THOUGHTS AND QUESTIONS!!!! and maybe just maybe your topic will be in the next episode!

The guys and welcome back to another ways the podcast, and today I have the UN CEP orm Allen as he's most known for being a videographer, photographer, got the designer and many a many more as an even rapper at a moment, and he's very young and pretty young, at least. He's older on me, but you know, but he's known for these things and he is an entrepreneur. I just does majority of his stuff around Barbados with photography, videography and Gossn and we just want to say about special the afternoon to step first of all. Yeah, I said welcome to what's a podcast, and you just going to dive straight in. You're a videographer, graphic designer, but photographer, rapper. You do a number of art pieces in your time. I BC with my sister. That's all I have the relations with you. So what really led you to be interested in in all these different aspects of art and Watson, but I can said of myself a creative period, but I used to. I was more so empty drying, not spaying framary school, right, and I had to do it. I was entering a competition, right, and the man, let me get you because you might said it was too advanced for my age. I the teacher's right, and that was PYNK. So that put me off a drawing for a little bit. And then when I went to carm are, no terform is when they get into the same thing. It was, you know, every child's...

...dance from the young rick got a little foolish, lady crackhead. Yeah, yeah, all right. And then, well, I know if you know them, Franchise Boys, but I did a dance name, leave with it, rout with it, and that put me back onto dancing again and I was just our La visuals. And so even when drawing first, then dancing and video, it's sure to just kind of day and I grabbed the thing. was more in the BCC stage of it, but I only really want to be cuasy to learn. videography was a relays was a very small force of the course, it said, the teasing myself anyway. But yeah, that's pretty much the journey of it. Okay, fair enough. Yeah, I understand what you were you were coming from there, but just Devn't even more into your videography side of everything. You said like a BCC didn't really have didn't teach you as much as they would have. Tea taught me really and true day I'm learning. I know you right now in the specific film aspect of it. So for not, since you would have thought yourself everything about hvideography and what's not. Who really then, would you say, would have helped you or like encourage you be saves your parents that to push into this. I, Y'all, entrepreneur and videography sore the side of things really truly US point of experienced. Everybody that fortunate the starting to come Arong know that because they they originally thought that the reason I wanted to get into doing photographic graphics and saying was easy way out, because it's that day when they have to thank for which a whole generation they just feel like our in general God boy, sticking with it right. Yeah, and then after leaving carmer and after leaving b seeing still doing they really oh, okay, he's seriously one do this, he'll he legitimately wants to do this, and then thats...

...who they came around. But I just I guess what started for me was music videos very much into me. The video like the other thing aspect of it, especially when mentors to get creative with it now, just cut, cut, cut, and as well, and everything I do and adds, our pictures are every case is ice. Try to Taylor enter it, making it as clean and neat as possible. So learning was just me wanted to be better and wanting youtube. Sure enough, because I mean I myself would have learned. I'm oldest say I'm fully self taught, but before I real even entity diving in, because they would have start. I started youtube in like through two thousand and thirteen. So that just me learning stuff and watching other youtuber speaking up their how they cut and how they learned some ingrain comedy and stuff into their videos. That's why I would have nern as myself and imagine that that's how you yourself would have picked a little things that you want in a whill. But no, I mean I always say you're a way more if advice on me at it, because I can't do somebody special effects that you did, even with it, without recent without video that you do with the with the go cool on the animating one that I was I formally want to plain experience. Yeah, that was interesting. I mean I stopped learning one two other things especially, I might learn those as time goes on. But even he still learned those. You will learn them, yeah, for sure, but straight away from the videography know, and into your photography. No, you have done a number of photography and photogenic images that are really esthetic and a lot of persons come to you, but it may not come to you as much as some of the other big, bigger names that are the photography. The photographic names are around Barbados, are around the world. But for you, as a young, pretty young hundred entrepreneur, how would you say that? You would have had to go about developing and growing...

...your brand and who you are, to let the persons know that you are the photographer or videographer us. No, let see, right, it's still a struggle and it's got a kidding myself. You're going to keep doing this thing, because you don't know if this thing and pop off your next day or the next day. So it's really you trying to believe yourself. I don't try to follow trends. I don't a lot of people do that because it's probably the easiest way to pick up. But if you if you trend chasing and you can't keep with it in that eventually you can get left behind. So you go find a lane. I still trying to find a lane because even not to let my a to page to me as all over the plast because I do three different things. I don't want make three different pages to cater to each because that stress. So I just create a haghtager saying. But it is really just reaching out every noone again, and sometimes if you do a really good stuff, people will just see it. If you standing, people get no. It's it not saying I outstanding by just think I got above average. Fair enough. Yeah, so, and even though I even that you saying that you have a struggle, know where does covid nineteen really put you and other other person that you may know, like in that business? Know that, because it has set by the entire world per see. But what his? How? How is it going to really affect you? Really? Well, it could shoot. They're people that line up saying, you know, fine, when it's saining done, because link as all cool and everything, but you go for the true when is it done? All right, I did art. I didn't want cover our got paper that because I was virtual B he's sending money. Things got up to the point I sold my red camera. That hurt me a little bit. Well, you know, got home. The hardest thing is just to keep pushing.

Is just a peer to tame that I go past. Obviously, any any jobs are solely online. Maybe better benut benefiting from this. Damn and food companies. So I can't say they got a real big getting overs on money. Setting to keep yourself from spiraling, really and truly, because it feels think they too. Hey, boy, feels thinking. Yeah, and I mean yeah, you did help me out with the stay at home video. I mean, for if I really did the combined tally of how many person would have seen it like whenever across all different social media, it was something like well over tenzero. So I mean that that was how was some if even for me. I didn't think it was actually going to do that well. But yeah, the tivity break. Yeah, yeah, it's just got to keep going at it and hopefully you get somewhere. But moving on to your wrapping and dancing side of things, really and truly lay yeah, you said you would gut, it would dancing, for it was joining and dancing. But you you do do some dancing and some wrapping. But I want to me personally, at least from what I see as the average person. I see you more as the Esthet if start for videographer and who does the stuff for one movement and stuff like that, and just a bunch of the US the videos, the dancing videos and all those stuff. But we're where's does that passion for rapping and and dancing? Is that still as full as ingrained and focusing on into a later end? Really and true, Oh sa, the dancing fell off for sure. I trying to get back ancer it because people being asked you need to do workshops, but because I know, if you know elevation dancers there's are so useful. Ast further great and the man did nificant dance first before actually did pretty well in left. But it was just signing. Life happened. Let my brother overseas are the main little working just partously, just because all lay happening in terms of rapwere started place sixteen. Because, like I mean, I always know late. You...

...know eminent, everybody know I'm NAM. Everybody had no fifty send. It's not knowing nothing about music. Well, my first reason for getting entry was listening to lowy like he had a song name bottles on Irundus and then the first to some of the here from him that I'm in Lea, Yeo. I got at you all as my music, and then I start getting backwards, because all we flipwards and you met a fool assemblies and even if you listening about no, because he was younger and they understand certain things, you listen about it always shoot. That was hard. But the rapping, I'm keeping at it. There are some things that seem to be working out that I don't want blight or football phone, but things seem to be looking up in that aspect. I don't think I'll ever stop at all. Yeah, and especially just you recently. Just had your recent release actually a cant named off the top of my heir a no, but I did this, do it. It was me. I gonna say that because obviously, Barbar this isn't well known for you. The wrapping industry from first, I mean everybody knows this. Yan, trulian barbarian rappers aren't necessarily as accomplished as overseas ones, ready to have more persons to produce it as off even in a hole. On a whole, Ray and truly arts aren't fully pushed as much as they are overseas as they are here really truly. So I mean that is that is where you get to struggle. But the the that that recent release that you just had there was was something, and I mean it did get part of quarantinings on. Yeah, and it was. It was something interesting for sure, and I say that this it was something that some, most persons can listen to like on a regular person. But you just, I would, I would just key have to keep pushing out that and maybe any...

...time, because you can't get that far really and truly, but you know, you just got to keep working on those are art forms. But speaking bout on to your video, video videography side of things, you do put out some stuff like before and half the stuff like that. So is that something that you would you did speakle workshops in terms dancing, but would you like see yourself as somebody that couldn't and I could teach and help other persons that are not as well versed in this side of the industry? Really truly, I've been asked to take video too. Before I used to the kind a lot of people because I don't like the space to do it and I can't afford to be driven host to host, to be teaching people. And another thing is the third thing would be literally want to create my own competition. That's not aspect of it. But if somebody showed me, but in most part, like you know, hopeful, do this right now, I will tell you what to do it. I mean I'll show your step by step. Will let you know dis is what you can do to these. Are they steps, you could say it, to achieve this certain results whatever. Somebody asked me how to put himself in the video three times. Shoot it three times. Don't with the camera lary or lotto scope. It our great screen. I check it in now. You need to figure out to do those things in details. I mean I thought I understand what he's saying, for in terms of he terms that he's using, but for the average person, what he's really telling you. If you don't know what I'm sure everybody knows what a green screen is at this point because it's well used with many specially in news, while moves, especially in news CCBC, a lot. You know, they have their faults. No, no, not disrespect to CBC or anything, but you know, you always see those little faults, as on CBC where you see the blew screen already, green screen showing every wants in a while. But that's just teaching you a few of the...

...bits, some pieces of what he does, really and truly, but just a little. I feel a later on when I get when I'm in a place that I could afford to do it, I can do it. HMM, it fair enough. Yeah, it makes sense. And just move on to your brain, because mean you will even in your in the zoom, in the zoom thing right now. It's if sleepy Allen, but we're really, really interested that nickname sleepy come from, because law person, don't that starty. Know your real name and I don't think I did. Menagine how the beginning. But people know you as sleepy. Did this and see you? Yeah, I did. Yeah, okay, cool, yeah, but it's anybody does. Watch the full thing. Then we'll see if they do. Go behind, watch it over and you will see who really was print pay attention to this video or not. But where Does Sleep D Brown come from? Real and truly? Um, I was in stirred farm and bash you go, another fail as good by s epoy are used to break me and doy he went up. I started on in term from my corner. But I had a coincidentally, I didn't even really sets that. I'm like, that's that he vand a ladys had sleepy on it and the people that see me sitting out think was a Yeo, you fitty description. So it stands out to I call it idea and went with it. Just stop stuff from there, truly. Yeah, it's fair enough. I mean for me personally, even when when they ever have my sister, who's who was who sleep read, introduce you would say I did that, that's the person or right, always running hot. So I yeah, I'm not. That is your brain. Know that you've made into you, so who you are really and truly and just move on work with that per per se. But just just wanted to like finish up things, because we get on a number of...

...things. Yeah, especially that high's for sure. He always see you in a red hat or whatever is. But for person's, let yourselves who who are. For young entrepreneurs, what advice would you really give, because I mean you did say that. Yeah, you have to keep going out it and something could pop off and on the next day and whatever, honey, next day and never know what happened because you don't know what the future holes in the water. Vice would you give? Give to somebody that is no way going through coronavirus? Did mention this in my last podcast with nip with Ni key, but wild vice would you give to somebody during this time who is looking to be a videographer of photographer, or even a rapper or a dancer? I don't know. They give this videos making it some pushit, but it got to if you choose to where you choose to do gross. The way is you need to keep hand when set. This is what I want to first round. What you want to do? How will you make because there's nothing new anyway right now. How will you make yours different? And don't get caught up in I don't know to start. Just start, because to try an Arrow you getting over the art. This one was trash and cat again. This is a little less trash or we we I rede we gain better that it. Yeah, it really goes. I don't. Don't focus on quantity either, just because because I tell people this should just because you shooting. I had a pholl video, don't mean you have to put it out back at this be you learning for yourself, because if somebody flooding the timeline or flooding whenever with garbage. You just block and cutters. Nobody want to see that. and S means. So if every time I put out quality, it will be more lately to to resonate, like how often can you can release a song? It's be hard. I mean it's look at it. Yeah, yeah, it's really it's really a quality of...

...a quantity thing, unless your quantity is hard and a high level. If you could push out quality quantity with quality, do you think? Yeah, yeah, as actually will I try to do as well, because I mean I have already before this quarantine stuff and in my my ashual quarantine trending video, and wasn't ready putting on as much. And I just ask like kind of see things really true that you should put I should put up to my as quality and as time is not quality in my eyes, I'm not going to put it out really and truly. So I mean, yeah, we're right. So, yeah, yes, beyond just able quality and I just put out quality of a Quinity, guys, and you don't need necessary just focus on putting not so much, because not a lot of person that are from Barbados and our only Barbadian Youtube sing not this quarantine and going on. Many persons that are just starting youtube put on a lot of videos, but they're already thinking really and truly what they what to do really. But I do encourage a lot of persons to get into the Youtube and game, because bobby just hard. Like what my neighbor he started in two thousand and thirteen. There was like ten people, the big music musicians and stuff. I don't their videos. They there was no real competition or really anybody to really pick out and learn from really and truly and know I'm really getting to the film aspect and recording stuff with criking and what's not and turned to really engage a lot more person that are knowledgeable in this aspect. So yeah, that is good to learn from and you watch some stuff that you're learning with color grading, because I got learn, I got really learn about that sort of stuff here some right, for sure. I feel I right now I got somebody that's correct and I'm creating. I got the best bike feelick is one of the best for sure. I don't know many person in Bob we just that could color grade. I don't already and truly, all right, so not even do do do what you do really and truly. I mean there's some of the personally I have to still take out on learn from any film and the street as well, but I don't know. And many persons I...

...really color great and many person that can do what you do really in June. So for sure, any, probably about the top ten. For sure. In Barbados, how you have bill there and it was interesting to even get you on your podcast to just hear what you have to say and just before a wrap things out it. Is there anything that you want to I don't know, plug at all. This is the time that you could plug anything, anything. Shut out to me, shut out to myself. So I get up to sleep in, remember to put it play, look for on Youtube. So hard put tell me that I pushed it too much. Don't make no sense when you got one point for you k views. Not Enough. No, no, I know, no, you know. I keep pushing from more and more vieous for sure. Anyways, I just want to say thank you for joining me on this way. It's a podcast.
