Welcome to Wasay Parcastionallyyou. You have a number of different art pieces. Um. You have your ownbusiness in terms of dealing with these shoes, now t I've seen which you designhops shoes wha. What else is there Um? I also do graphic design porcaard. I doO it really goes on. I just do whatever people like approach me with us artwise. I take ne endeavors or tryg to try e things Ou, so oon misk an was aralways like a pastion of yours, or is it something that you just picked uponme during school um I've been drawing since I was reallysmall and what really like started it was when I would be ow my brotherwatching him draw an. I was trying to copy him and don't try to do it as goodas him, but en I turd it to be better...

...to him. So I've always SIS primaryschool. I've always been drawing. So it's been a passion, Byreadi, nothingyeah, obviously, you've, no carryd! That overseas now um in obviouslycollege university. Now- and you recently were in the you- had uern anart gallery with those two magnificent pieces. I must say with the the piecesof overhere of the block her, I mean why ispared you to do those pieces Um,especially lo those pieces per Su, mhm m tanking, so much for that. First ofall, and the first thing well, I was approached by one of the girls at myschool saying that they're going to have a art gallery and they wanted tomake te present of work there and it was. The ther was the universityAfrican Sucer Association, so Um it was. It was doing black culture and stuff aas I really wanted to do something hat kind of portrayed that- and I chose todo here for the specific reason that, as a black woman going up as a blackchild, I um haited my har for a very long time. You know that something tatsCaland poor that girls. When we're growing up. We don't really like ourher, so I wanted to do a piece that kind of Portraye like hearing abeautiful way Lik. You know like, like a protective styles, the currently likethettl curls, that we have like I wanted it to like show that is reallybeautiful, so that was the man purpose behandles. He said Yeah, I'm juststaying on the hole on topic of being black and Blaas moter movement. I meanyou're an American. No, so I mean you would have ben witnessing somebodyprotests, I'm sure, even if you wer taking part in some of them yourself, but how h? How is it like being over there and experiencing it 'cause inbarbades we would't lreally, have that, like as it is in America, Pursu welllike when I first moved to America. Ovasa definitely had a leg be facedwith the fact that racesil e are so much different from barbidas. You nolyUm, it's very, very real over here. You see it constantly. I have an olderbrother of mine, he dart skin and I use...

HAV worry about him drive in andgetting pulld over, because that stuff really happens over th yer, but I wouldsay that with the whole Um George ployd and the podast ave been happening overhere. It's a very like tight energy, like I feel like everybody is, and it'sgood to see. Everybody Kinda like like, like a unity among everybody likeeverybody's feeling, the same way we're already fighting for justice and stufflike that. So it's good to see, but I will t say that it's like a kind ofbloomy energy over here. I would definitely say I, I know a lot offriends who werk I taking in the protest- and you know theyere to like they'retelling me how it's sad like T, even when they're protesting like t theywere emotional. You know what I mean. So I would just say that, like I'venever experienced anything like this, but it's happening for a good reason. So I definitely sound Li. That's that's Actualy, really, reallygood that you wouldhave been able to exprence it fir time. 'cause I mean now. Many persons would be able to express themselves or know any anything aboutit, real itrully. Unless they do experience it first hind I mean youwill witness. Sometimes you just said, but I mean you expressed it in in yourart form of it really in terms of on Countas perse. But how do you think youcould express the ballets matter movementinto no, Your Business and inports are like hots and even shoes. No 'cause t e hav Yo shoes, noat, you just didt Um. I guess I would say tha recently I goin try tolike well not really from well. For my business, I mean liketel I'be kind ofadvertising, the fact that IAM afthat own business, I'm a small business like, but I've also been not only in terms of my business but other people'sbusinesses. I've been trying to put my money towards other black businesses, particularly like Um. I feel like the power hat. That dollaris, is rity strong, that's another thing I learnt over here like due tothe whole recism stuff, like people...

...really pay attention to who ans likewhich, like bat, people who nter in areas and where we spent our money towars, Ond what we put our money towards. So I definitely in terms of my business.I I'm not sure exactly how I would inncorporated, I guess, but in terms ofother businesses, I definitely wo, and I just Wanto- spend in money Pars ThetYeah, I'm just Taon Your Business, I mean, obviously you you're art Aunte interms of being gof a designer, an or de ar, but how d? What was the whole ideabehind shoes and being on a GF designer really in trudy? Okay, so I started offwith my Maina thin when I was growing up and everything it was always joying.I like when I see something I always used to like look at a form. I wouldknow how I wanted to draw it. I'll put it on Bei bere wo, I would say, is verygood. So that's how I culpot Ta Portrait and Tread like realism, kindof court trips and as always wat stuck by, but in twenty nineteen. I I that Iwas going to start grapic designing because I wa type of person I hate being still.I don't like being in white ear. I like to explore like Tojo ew things I waslike you know what Tuni I came home a tridography designing and I started aand I ended up being great on it and I got fold of shop and I started learningit. Hen People started asking for flyers and I started getting good a Ikokay, I like a Sou and then I said Tust like last year. Again, I said you knowI want to do something else over here. They have faternities andSororities and they do atl Lif. That- and I was good at that too, when peoplewere giving me money to do those things, and I was Sik okay, you know that's agood thing and men coming an on to to shoot customs. The shoe customs werejust honestly. I just honestly just be bored like I'd be bored. I wanted totry any things and then Ye turnd out good at people are like. You shouldsell. I and I'm like you, know what you know you're right, but I would justsell I o to Stan. I I don't like to be sill. I I like to explore otherartforns and I still have so much more...

...like like art forms. I want to try out thatI haven't got to yet so yeah yeah and I mean, if you guys, Wan, to do check ofthese shoes. Wl ther'll be Lincoln discussion, O o s can Gon Chacke O, butI mean they're, alrvery e, well, Doneshihan pins them herself a mean ano. put he tap on his shoe and everything I know a bit of r Arit CA'ttr me. I understand if or it is, must be you in your story. One time I I saw you had where a personwas complaining that it were so expensive, but I mean once youunderstand that you hontain all of them takes a long time really and truly Um,but I mean I mean it's really really good, thatyou ga doing different customs of shoes, art forms and whatever, as you said, but I mean you ca, you you, you have the business on your art, n,everything with art. But how far do you think that you can takeit and fora you t or is just a sit hustl or that's an interesting question that wasactua thinking about Thethe d, But when I, when I tell people that I havepremed, Toin, they're, very surprise, a', like whyare y? U Primed you do Itea 'cause! I ame Li dream. I guess what I'm astiring too ise to be aplastic sursion and the reason for that is ts. Plastic Surgey is an Artno oneof the surgernties in the yard. As why I'm really drawn to me, I'm ready intobiology and love take the human body. So when I tell the Ma Premett it likethat's so weird because you know you do arland stuff like that, so like incollege, it definitely was a sidehouole Li. I um I just like I. I do everythingco come to me to get money Te, give them a product. You like it and that'sjust to give me a little extra money in college. ECAUSE E, O Ust, im hard beingout here by yourself, and but I will...

...say that I I've been recently thinkingabout it, because I guess the like the main reason Istuck to w oe Sitehouse I'll, always tell people like I'm, never going toask you the artist and like I just do this on the side itsusually because E.I I know that in my head I' be thinking. Oha Ut tol me that much money I can'tmake a living off o art like I just this, isn't going to be something thatI could pay my rent with and I folwait I Meso like. I was like no, I justdon't see that happening, but I was talking in Somo Graitar the other dayand I was saying an she was telling me that you know like you can make a Livinof of it and like if you enjoy it, and it makes you happy like Thatis Tatit, something you could do like, as suppose to o a med, schoon, Agasusso and- andyou know e're just going to all of that. You know so I I'm still thinking aboutthat question. If im going to Continu it buand now, I will say is tatit stilla siht Hato, but it does have a posipility to become Antin r. You know.Well, I mean how the I mean as most businesses, you would have experienceddifferent challenges, especially recently with the whole, the Covinineteen everything with th, with certain businesses losing sales andwhatever, but I say from Covin why you are some of the challenges that thatyou find that you have it. If it's not clients or customers, people in GeneralAne, you have to sell them. Youre part UC UM. I would say that for sure in is probably a common onefor all art, like businesses, all art, creatives and stuff, like that ispricing. People like just cann't, get their head Wat to wron a price atartist set, and that's because I don't people like seea rt pece that are like. Oh, you know, wit, that cat ain't. That long, youknow hat I mean like. I don't know why you would charge that much much money, but they don't understand the energy of the time behind it. So I woulddefinitely say he would peole poach me for portraits. You know like they'relike a couple they want to Portha and I...

...tell them of a price when I want uslike that so high and I'm like well, you do understand that I, my scell updrawing, is very realistic, so I take a lot of time to shade a nose. You knowwhat I mean, so I'm not going to do that four or fifty dollars. You knowwhat I mean. So I definitely stay pricing and then for another. One Iwould say is like difficult customers. Sometimes people are like I don't know, they're just very unless just comes wit, working with people n, he other peoplethey're very, like Um. Some people are rude. Some people are like encreet.Well, I guess you can say, but I ha to Liy very well. I I'm like a customerservice type of person, so I just you dont smel through it, but I would saythose are that ea two Daeswhi has it. I mean I unfortunately recently along a M.There's n love the whole thing with Ome the older generation, maybe ar kind ofhing on to the younger generation of females and whatever it is tesetualabuse and everything. Now so I mean I, I wouln't want you to expressyourself in any experience that you may have morebut. How do you think that youcan? What what advice would you give thepersons Um Tha, maybe going through it Um 'cause? I know some people look at artas stress Reliever and Saso howide ves, you KINDOF, give Thea Person Ito. I guess themt, like the biggest likeadvice Goin to give to somebody o speak out and Benat isn't necessarily meanjust talking and saying your experience and stuff. That's what you want to do.You can, but, as you said, art is expressive. You can speak out throughyour art, you and what you like to do and make a piece yoo and write a con peak. Ou O make a video oflike something you like. You know like channel that and you create somethingyou know what I mean, because I've...

...talked to people who have been in situations like that and they toldme a like when they create something. I know a girl who um she was in asituation of that and she made she like wrought a little poetry book and shetold me that it felt so good to release Ti. So I say that's my mean advice. Ican't Um. I can't say my experience of that, because I've never had an experience at such, but I would say I guess that'sprobably the best Iwawell I mean thank you for joining me today before I doclose off everything with the O.
